Life in the slow lane tells the story of Thomas M. Sullivan’s experience over a year or so teaching driver’s education. This includes experiences of teaching particular students over this time frame.
I really liked Sullivan’s laid back style of writing I feel it really added character to the book. Slang was used throughout the book especially when he was teaching younger drivers. This could be a problem for some people as they may not understand what some of the slang means.
This book had me laughing and smiling all the way through. I loved the way how he made fun of himself throughout the novel; I feel you won’t find many people brave enough to do that.
I did feel like in the middle of the novel he started to discuss topics of race and religion, I felt that overextended the amount of information he was trying to get across to the reader and could easily offend interested readers.
Overall this was a good fast read, would recommend to anyone that enjoys a humorous read.
