Gone with the Wind was initially a compelling and entertaining novel. It was the sweeping story of tangled passions and the rare courage of a group of people in Atlanta during the time of Civil War.
I have just finished Gone with the Wind and I absolutely loved it in place and in other places I was totally shocked by what I was reading.
I was surprised by the way the character of Rhett turned out be, it was not what I thought was going to happen with this character.
I didn’t think that this book would shock me as much as it did and I literally read the first 50 pages in shock not realising this is what the whole book was going to be like.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book was the lengthy description that was in place at times. I got bored by some of it and felt like it could of being done in a shorter fashion.
I feel like this book will stay with me in my thoughts for a while. It was a great historical novel that brought that time period to life.
