There’s a war going on and humanity is the prize.
Caught in a battle between two supernatural forces, five junior high students are killed. But Constance, Jonathan Avery, Maria, and Danielle return from the dead — and they’ve changed.
They each carry a piece of a soul stone and with it they have extraordinary powers. Now they can summon weapons from thin air and even start fires with their minds. With these powers comes a connection they never wanted, and coming back from the dead hasn’t wiped away the grudges between them. When one of them loses themselves to the power, they are soon caught in a battle against themselves and an enemy that wants to make sure that this time they stay dead.
The start of this novel was a little bit slow for me, I like to be immediately hooked when reading a novel. However it soon picked up when the group of kids found themselves in the greenhouse.
The characters are well though out and I do feel the reader looks up the character of Constance due to the self-sacrifice she is willing to take for her friends and people we would class as bullies. The group of kids are all realistic and each have a different element to add to the group.
I loved the authors writing style, the words just flowed off the page and this made it a very easy read. I was able to read this book in just over a day due to the addictive writing style the author has.
This book has left me wanting more and I can not wait to read book two in the series.
