Miriam Black knows when you will die. She’s foreseen hundreds of car crashes, heart attacks, strokes, and suicides.
But when Miriam hitches a ride with Louis Darling and shakes his hand, she sees that in thirty days Louis will be murdered while he calls her name. Louis will die because he met her, and she will be the next victim.
No matter what she does she can’t save Louis. But if she wants to stay alive, she’ll have to try. (Taken from Goodreads)
I love the artwork on the front cover of this book, just wish I could have appreciated it more on the kindle. This actually how I imagine Miriam to be throughout this novel.
I loved the language used throughout this novel is unique and kept me entertained throughout. However I appreciate that all this white trash talk is not for everyone and will probably result in a lot of people putting down this novel as they don’t want to read any further.
The writing and the setting of this novel is a match made in heaven. Wendig come up with so much phrases and metaphors that had me in stitches through out this book.
The concept of this book was interesting and worked well most of the time. A couple of times while reading this novel, I found myself confused and having to re-read passages in order to understand what was going on.
Overall this is a good read if you don’t mind the language used throughout the novel.
A copy of this book was received from Netgalley free of charge and all opinions are my own through reading it.
